LOXTONIA CIDER ANNUAL CHERRY TRAIL RUN 2024

A day of beautiful trails, food trucks, cherries, live music and of course CIDER!

The Loxtonia Cider 5^th annual Cherry Trail run on the 9th of November was a day to remember! Set against the backdrop of the Ceres Valley mountains the event brought together trail runners, cider lovers, and families and friends for a memorable day filled with community spirit, scenic trails, and, of course, refreshing Loxtonia cider.

A scenic adventure through the orchards

Runners arrived bright and early, ready to lace up and take on their relevant run. The scenic routes offered runners stunning views of the orchards and the rolling Ceres mountains, with routes ranging from a 6km walk/run to a 12km and a challenging 21km – there was something for everyone. Runners ran through rows of apple orchards, taking in the beauty surrounding them and the fresh mountain air.

Highlights from the trail

One of the most exciting parts of the run was reaching the waterpoints -with music and cheer from the team manning the points – this provided the runners with motivation and a renewal of energy. Runners paused here for photos, to refresh and grab something to drink & eat or simply to catch their breath, marveling at the landscape that makes Loxtonia’ cider so unique. Along the trail, well-marked signs and enthusiastic marshals kept spirits high, singing and cheering runners on providing the “gees”.

Post-run celebrations

Crossing the finish line led participants to a well-deserved cider – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options were available. The combination of good company, live music, refreshing cider, and local food offerings created a festive atmosphere that continued into the afternoon

Vitality members – earning points on the run

Vitality members enjoyed an added perk, earning points for participating in the Cherry Trail Run. We were thrilled to provide an opportunity for runners to not only experience the Ceres Valley trails but also gain rewards for their wellness journey!
